Germany edged their way to a gold medal match against Brazil as they defeated Nigeria 2-0 at the Arena Corinthians in Sao Paulo on Wednesday. It was a rude ending to the fairytale run of Samson Siasia’s team who were hoping to emulate their compatriots of Atlanta ’96 in the search for a second Olympic title.
I didn't high hopes of Nigeria winning the match but did not expect the overall poor performance of the Nigerian players most especially Sadiq Umar. Their passing was poor and shots inaccurate.
Nigerians took to Twitter to express their feelings and opinions about the match. Sadiq Umar got a lot of harsh tweets as he had a poor game. Below are some of the tweets.

And there were the neutral ones. Some even compared the team to Arsenal
I hope and pray that the DreamTeam win the bronze medal match against Honduras. I don't expect that match to be as difficult as today's. Goodluck guys! We appreciate the effort. E no easy to play football.
